Read. Write. Dream.

I have returned!

I’ve healed up nicely from my surgery and as I still do not have a job (unfortunately) I’m going to try and get back into writing regularly. However, I’m going to be completely honest and state that not having a job has made me lazy. I’ve gotten so bored with my life that now even doing chores sounds too daunting to proceed. So sadly, even writing sometimes feels like more than I have motivation to do. I’m hoping though, if I set a goal for myself, that this will change.

As far as a reading update goes, I never finished Running on the Cracks, though I intend to do so soon.

Personal update of the health variety…

I try to keep my personal out of this blog but I wanted to update everyone who was curious, please read below if you’d like to know how my operation went. Fair warning: some of it you will probably consider TMI but again, this is only for the people that want to know.

A Personal Note and a Hiatus:

For those that care, the specifics are below the ‘read more’ line, but I’m taking a (hopefully) temporary hiatus from this blog. A hiatus which actually started about a week ago. I’m hoping that within the next two weeks I’ll be back to posting more regularly and writing my short stories. Read below for the details of my hiatus:

Reading update (and more).

Recently Finished:
Prophecy of Sisters by Michelle Zink
   - I loved it. It’s a great book about twin sisters turned against each other as they discover they’re destiny’s are to fulfill opposite sides of a prophecy. Set in the 19th century, the story primarily follows Lia who is sweet girl that’s simply trying to cope with recently becoming an orphan and soon finds herself in dangers she never could have dreamed of. The first in a 3-book long series, Prophecy of Sisters is a great read for lovers of supernatural lore and 19th century settings.

Recently Started:
Running on the Cracks by Julia Donaldson
   - I’m only about 20 pages in but I’m already loving it. It’s written in the point-of-view of two different people (so far, anyway). The book follows the story of a young girl, Leo, who’s running away to find her grandparents, and a young boy, Finlay, who just wants to earn enough money for a guitar so he can join a band, and somewhere along the way, their paths entwine.

The following is a personal note and ‘fair warning’ for my readers:
